2H Secures Integrity Management Contract for Moray West Offshore Wind Farm

2H, a leading provider of engineering and consulting services, has been awarded a four-year contract to oversee integrity management (IM) for the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm.

The project, currently being constructed in the UK’s North Sea, is developed by Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE.

The contract encompasses IM for all balance of plant (BoP) equipment, including monopile foundations, tower structures, inter-array and export cables, as well as offshore and onshore substations.

2H will be responsible for developing and implementing integrity plans for the structural and electrical equipment at the wind farm site. The primary objectives are to optimize operational costs and maintain the assets in optimal condition throughout the project’s lifespan.

2H’s engineering office in Aberdeen, UK, will collaborate with its IM division, Clarus, to execute the project. Clarus’s proprietary digital IM software, iCUE, will be utilized for efficient operational data management and visualization of the system’s overall health.

The Vekta Group, based in Edinburgh, will contribute specialized expertise in BoP electrical and high-voltage equipment.

Ricky Thethi, Global Director at 2H, expressed enthusiasm for partnering with the Moray West operations and maintenance (O&M) team, emphasizing 2H and Clarus’s extensive experience in managing long-term integrity programs for offshore structures.

Thethi highlighted the benefits of their structured, risk-based approach to IM, offering stakeholders enhanced visibility of key risks and the ability to address integrity issues during operations.

Jamie Dempster, Moray West Senior O&M Manager, expressed delight in signing the agreement with 2H, recognizing their Scottish-based expertise and strong performance during the procurement process.

Dempster welcomed 2H onto their list of key suppliers and noted the significance of Moray West’s transition from development to energy generation, making Ocean Winds the operator of the largest offshore wind capacity in Scotland.
