SJVN Green Energy Opens Land Tender for 200 MW Solar Projects in Punjab

SJVN Green Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has released an online open tender following a single-stage, two-part bid system.

The tender welcomes proposals for the outright purchase or 28-year lease of a maximum of 800 acres of land within Punjab. This land acquisition is intended for the development of solar power projects with a capacity of up to 200 MW.

The sought-after land must adhere to specific criteria, including all necessary statutory clearances, a perimeter chain-link fence, and established connectivity with the State Transmission Utility (STU).

Prospective bidders can submit multiple land parcel proposals, with a cumulative limit of 1200 acres. Each individual parcel must be either 200 acres or a multiple thereof, with a maximum size of 800 acres. Offers for land parcels smaller than 200 acres will not be considered.

In the event that a proposed land parcel exceeds 200 acres but does not align with a multiple of 200, the area will be rounded to the nearest multiple. This adjustment will be accompanied by a corresponding modification in the price bid.

The estimated spare capacity available at the designated STU substation must meet minimum thresholds based on the land parcel size.

The requirement is at least 50 MW for a 200-acre parcel, scaling up to 200 MW for an 800-acre parcel. Bidders are obligated to furnish the latest connectivity availability list from the relevant authority or a letter from the applicable TRANSCO, subject to verification by SJVN Green Energy Limited.

A bid security or earnest money deposit (EMD) is mandatory for all bidders. The amount varies with the size of the land parcel, starting at INR 20 lakh for 200 acres and increasing to INR 80 lakh for 800 acres or more.

The deadline for bid submission is set for July 23, 2024, at 14:00 hours, followed by the opening of techno-commercial bids at 15:00 hours on the same day. The submission of hard copy documents is required by August 2, 2024, at 18:00 hours.
