Nordex Secures 42 MW Wind Farm Deal in Lithuania

In late June 2024, the Nordex Group solidified a contract with the E energija group. This agreement entails the provision and installation of six N163/6.X wind turbines, collectively generating 42 MW of power, for a wind farm project in Lithuania.

The contract also encompasses a comprehensive 35-year Premium-Plus service agreement for turbine upkeep.

The wind farm is strategically situated near the city of Kaunas. The delivery and subsequent installation of the advanced Delta4000 series turbines, mounted on 159-meter tubular steel towers, are slated to commence in the second half of 2025, with commissioning anticipated within the same year.

Gediminas Uloza, CEO of E energija group, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting Nordex as the preferred choice due to their technological prowess and successful past partnerships. This project is the first of three planned wind farms set to begin construction in central Lithuania this year.

The chosen site boasts average wind speeds exceeding 7 m/s, making it ideal for harnessing wind energy. E energija group intends to operate the six Nordex turbines, each with a nominal output of 7 MW.

Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group, expressed delight at the continued trust and partnership with E energija group. Since the beginning of their collaboration in early 2023, E energija group has placed orders for 50 units of the N163/6.X turbines, totaling 346 MW of capacity.

The Nordex Group has established a significant presence in Lithuania, having sold over 950 MW of turbines to various customers since its initial installation in 2015. This latest project further solidifies their position in the Lithuanian wind energy market.
