Aspen Power, a major player in the distributed generation sector, has successfully completed six solar projects in Pennsylvania, bringing online a total of 25.5 megawatts (MW) of direct current (dc) generation capacity.
These projects are estimated to produce up to 37 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in their first year of operation.
Partnership with Sunrise Energy
These six projects represent the initial phase of a larger portfolio acquired by Aspen Power from Sunrise Energy, the original developer.
Aspen Power collaborated with Sunrise Energy to co-develop these projects. With these additions, Aspen Power’s total portfolio of completed or contracted solar projects in Pennsylvania now surpasses 145 MW.
Moreover, these six sites have created approximately 480 jobs within the state, spanning the development, construction, and maintenance phases of the solar systems.
Advancing Decarbonization and a Sustainable Future
Dan Gulick, Senior Vice President of Community Solar at Aspen Power, expressed his pride in the collaborative effort with Sunrise Energy, stating, “We’re proud to advance decarbonization together with the team at Sunrise, who have been committed partners in bringing these projects to life.”
He further emphasized the significance of these projects in Pennsylvania, saying, “Being able to commission projects in the Keystone State is a key element of supporting a sustainable future for all and achieving our goal of gigawatt-scale in the coming years.”
