Burckhardt Compression Secures Major Biogas Orders in India

Burckhardt Compression, a global leader in reciprocating compressor design and manufacturing, has been awarded contracts for 45 biogas installations across India in the past fiscal year.

These substantial orders, encompassing 82 standard high-pressure compressors, are propelling the company’s growth in the sustainable energy sector.

The global biogas market is experiencing a significant upswing, with projections from the International Energy Agency (IEA) indicating a growth from 5% to 20% by 2040.

Developing nations are expected to exhibit even higher growth rates. Biogas installations are pivotal in decarbonization efforts, transforming organic waste into valuable energy, reducing methane emissions, and fostering a circular economy.

India is making noteworthy progress in promoting biogas as a key component of its renewable energy strategy.

The establishment of compressed biogas (CBG) plants is central to this initiative, with the Sustainable Alternative towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) scheme providing essential support to local farmers in setting up these facilities.

Burckhardt Compression is well-equipped to support the burgeoning biogas sector globally through its high-performance compression solutions.

The company’s standard high-pressure compressors are recognized for their efficiency and reliability, making them the optimal choice for biogas projects.

Fabrice Billard, CEO of Burckhardt Compression, expressed pride in being selected for these significant projects in India. “We are honored to be the preferred supplier for these crucial biogas projects in India. Our compressors are engineered to meet the highest standards of efficiency and reliability, ensuring optimal operation of biogas installations. These orders underscore our strategy and commitment to supporting sustainable energy solutions.”
