DeepOcean Wins Subsea Services Contract for Sangomar Field

DeepOcean, a prominent provider of ocean services, has secured frame agreements with Woodside Energy (Senegal) B.V. to deliver comprehensive subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) services for the Sangomar field off the coast of Senegal in West Africa.

The Sangomar field, situated 100 km south of Dakar, Senegal, is a deepwater oil project that recently commenced production in June 2024.

The scope of work awarded to DeepOcean encompasses a wide array of services, including project management, engineering, and the execution of various subsea tasks such as inspection, surveys, intervention, and maintenance.

Additionally, DeepOcean will provide specialized services like underwater inspection of the FPSO (floating production storage and offloading vessel) and standalone ROV (remotely operated vehicle) operations.

DeepOcean will collaborate with its local partner, Teranga Oil and Gas Services SARL, a Senegalese service company. This partnership aligns with DeepOcean’s commitment to providing innovative, high-quality services while adhering to local laws and regulations. Both companies are dedicated to ensuring the success of the Sangomar project through their combined expertise.

DeepOcean’s subsidiary, Searov Offshore SAS, based in Séte, France, will work in conjunction with DeepOcean’s office in Séte and Teranga Oil and Gas to plan and execute the Sangomar field services.

DeepOcean brings a wealth of experience from similar IMR operations in West Africa, although this marks their inaugural project in Senegal and their first collaboration with Woodside Energy.

The Sangomar field boasts a sophisticated subsea system, including a permanently moored FPSO, 24 subsea wells, and associated infrastructure like wellheads, subsea trees, in-line tees, manifolds, flowlines, risers, and umbilicals.

DeepOcean aims to leverage its expertise and advanced underwater assets to ensure efficient inspection and maintenance of this extensive infrastructure, minimizing costs and operational disruptions for Woodside Energy.

DeepOcean has established a strong presence in West Africa, with operational sites in Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and Ghana. This new contract in Senegal further solidifies their position as a leading provider of subsea services in the region.
