The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric maintains its position as one of the most budget-friendly electric vehicles (EVs) available in the United States, with a base price starting under $35,000.
Notably, Hyundai has introduced a new, sport-oriented N Line model that boasts stylish design enhancements.
Evolution of the Kona Electric Design
Five years after its initial launch, Hyundai significantly revamped the Kona Electric for the 2024 model year, adopting a new “EV-derived” design philosophy.
The 2024 model represented a comprehensive improvement, offering increased range, more interior space, and a refreshed aesthetic.
This included the integration of a pixelated seamless lightbar across the front, a refined nose, and active grille shutters, contributing to a more contemporary appearance.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Kona Electric features Hyundai’s cutting-edge infotainment system, which incorporates dual 12.3-inch displays for the driver and infotainment functions. It also supports Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.
The Sporty N Line Variant
For the 2025 model year, the Kona Electric receives an even sportier and more stylish design upgrade with the introduction of the N Line trim.

Hyundai claims that the new Kona Electric N Line will “redefine electric vehicle style.” This model incorporates distinctive N Line elements, such as unique front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and 19-inch wheels.
N Line Distinguishing Features
Additional N Line badging further sets the sporty trim apart from the standard model. Inside the N Line, you’ll find sport seats with red stitching and more N Line badging.

Red accents on the steering wheel and dashboard enhance the sporty ambiance. The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric N Line will have a starting price of $39,670, which includes a $1,395 destination fee.
Battery Options and Range
The 2025 Hyundai Kona EV offers two battery options: a 48.6 kWh battery and a 64.8 kWh battery. The base SE model, equipped with the smaller battery, achieves a range of up to 200 miles and features a front electric motor with 133 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque.
Performance and Charging
The N Line, SEL, and Limited models are equipped with a more potent motor that delivers up to 201 horsepower.
When equipped with the larger 64.8 kWh battery, the N Line boasts a range of up to 230 miles, while the SEL and Limited trims can reach up to 261 miles on a single charge. All models offer fast-charging capabilities, allowing for a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 43 minutes.
