EiDF Announces Construction of 50 MW Solar Project in Spain

EiDF Solar has secured all necessary permits to initiate the development of a 50 MW photovoltaic solar farm in Valdefresno, León, Spain.

The project, requiring an investment nearing €40 million, marks a significant step for the company.

The solar farm will cover 149 hectares of land and feature over 99,000 TIER 1 photovoltaic modules, spanning a generating surface area exceeding 140,000 m2. Construction is slated to commence in 2025, with completion expected within seven months. The energy generated will primarily supply EiDF’s distribution networks.

Joan Gelonch, CEO of EiDF, expressed enthusiasm: “This installation is pivotal for us, showcasing our planning and execution capabilities while solidifying our leadership in the sector.”

The initiative aligns with EiDF’s recently unveiled five-year Strategic Plan, designed in accordance with Spain’s PNIEC (National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan). The plan aims for substantial EBITDA growth, projected to reach €233.9 million by 2028.

Gelonch emphasized EiDF’s commitment: “The government’s ambitious 2030 plan exceeds EU targets for renewable energy integration. We are proud to contribute to these goals and champion clean energy initiatives.”

The project underscores EiDF’s strategic vision and commitment to advancing Spain’s renewable energy landscape, in alignment with national and European directives.
