Advanced Cleaning Solutions Enhance Solar Panel Maintenance with Drones

Emil Otto GmbH, a prominent provider of cleaning and soldering solutions for the solar sector, has introduced a range of products designed for solar panel cleaning.

These cutting-edge cleaning agents are compatible with drone technology, significantly boosting the efficiency and lifespan of solar systems while reducing the labor involved in maintaining solar panels.

Recent years have seen an exponential surge in the demand for renewable energy sources, particularly solar power.

A crucial aspect of ensuring optimal solar panel performance is regular cleaning to remove dirt, dust, and other contaminants that can impede their efficiency.

Traditional cleaning methods are often labor-intensive, costly, and challenging in hard-to-reach areas.

“Drones are transforming this process, enabling efficient removal of grime from solar panels. Specifically formulated cleaning agents are sprayed onto affected areas by drones.

These agents must be eco-friendly, biodegradable, and precisely engineered to maximize cleaning power without harming the delicate surfaces of solar panels,” elucidated Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH.

Emil Otto has developed the Solar Module Cleaner series, a range of cleaning agents specifically designed for solar panels.

Depending on the type of contamination, alkaline, acidic, or neutral cleaners can be employed. These solutions are typically VOC-free and effectively dissolve even the most stubborn dirt, from salt deposits like limescale and lime compounds to organic matter like lichen, moss, and algae.

“Solar parks are frequently situated near highways or other transportation hubs, where people are less inclined to reside. This often results in solar panels contaminated by soot, exhaust fumes, dust, paraffin, or other pollutants,” Geßner added.

Cleaning restores the solar module’s optimal efficiency. Emil Otto’s cleaners leave no oily residue that could clump together and harden under UV radiation.

They are environmentally friendly to the system and other materials, while also being non-aggressive towards electronic components.

Drones can swiftly cover vast areas and clean areas inaccessible to conventional cleaning crews. In such cases, it’s crucial that cleaning agents leave no residue on the panel, eliminating the need for manual or mechanical re-cleaning.

Furthermore, drone technology minimizes labor and downtime, leading to substantial cost savings. Importantly, Emil Otto’s specialized cleaning agents are environmentally friendly and contribute to sustainable solar panel maintenance.

“Our innovative cleaning agents for solar modules represent a significant advancement for the solar industry,” concluded Geßner. “We are proud to offer a solution that not only enhances the efficiency and lifespan of solar panels but also reduces operational costs while safeguarding the environment.”
