Entrion Wind is investigating the potential of the FRP monopile foundation technology in collaboration with leading offshore wind developer, Simply Blue Group. This innovative technology aims to extend the water depth and economic viability of monopiles up to 100 meters.
Feasibility Study and Comparisons
The joint study will assess both the technical and economic feasibility of the FRP technology in waters ranging from 60 to 80 meters and compare it with alternative foundation options. Additionally, the study will optimize the FRP configuration through integrated engineering, fabrication, installation, and operations and maintenance evaluations.

Accelerating Offshore Wind Deployment
Entrion Wind is advancing the FRP monopile to accelerate offshore wind deployment by extending the water depths and favorable economics of monopiles up to 100 meters. This patent-pending technology is currently at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6.
Preparation for Commercial Roll-Out
Entrion Wind is preparing an offshore demonstration project next year to ready the design for commercial deployment. This follows the completion of a 1:2 scale test at the MilLab at UiA in Grimstad, Norway, on November 29, 2023, and DNV’s issuance of a Statement of Feasibility on March 31, 2023.

The joint study with Simply Blue Group will enhance the technical feasibility of the FRP monopile technology, paving the way for its use in deeper waters.
