Equitix Invests in Gode Wind 1 Offshore Wind Farm, Expanding European Renewable Energy Portfolio

Equitix has recently announced a significant investment in the Gode Wind 1 offshore wind farm, strategically situated 45 km off the German North Sea coast.

Gode Wind 1 boasts 55 turbines, contributing to a total installed capacity of 330 MW. This wind farm is a crucial part of a larger multi-farm project, encompassing Godes 1, 2, and 3, which upon completion, will collectively generate 900 MW of renewable energy.

This investment marks Equitix’s 13th offshore wind farm acquisition in Europe, signifying a significant stride in the company’s strategic plan to expand its presence in the European renewable energy sector and, more broadly, the offshore wind domain.

With a renewable energy generation capacity exceeding 1 GW in Germany alone, Equitix has firmly established itself as a major player in the European renewables market, investing across various technologies.

The company has actively collaborated with all leading utilities and turbine manufacturers, contributing to its substantial offshore wind generation fleet of approximately 6 GW.

Equitix CIO, Achal Bhuwania, commented on the investment, stating: “Following our recent acquisitions of a home decarbonization platform in Germany and a renewable hybridization platform in Spain, our investment in Gode Wind 1 underscores our unwavering dedication to supporting the green transition and achieving net zero emissions across Europe.

This investment, alongside our existing partners (Orsted & TRIG), showcases our commitment to fostering deeper, long-lasting relationships.”

Equitix sought counsel from various experts during the acquisition process, including Orrick for legal services, Everoze for technical expertise, PwC for accounting and tax matters, and Lockton for insurance services.
