French Company Geocean Awarded Contract for Congo LNG Gas Project

Just a few days ago, ABL, a company offering solutions focused on energy and sustainable development, was awarded a contract to provide maritime assurance services for the Congo LNG gas project.

According to information released on Friday, July 26th, Geocean, a French maritime company, has been engaged in the implementation of Phase 2 of the Congo LNG gas project, operated by Eni in Congo-Brazzaville.

The company’s involvement follows a contract awarded by the Chinese company Wison New Energies for the transportation and installation of a mooring system for the project’s new Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) platform.

Specifically, Geocean will utilize its expertise to install a submerged swivel and yoke system. This mechanism is specifically designed to enable a floating structure to operate stably while adapting to the movements of the sea.

This project is essential for the realization of Phase 2 of Congo LNG, which is expected to eventually deliver approximately 2.4 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year, more than double the current production of one million tons of LNG.

This contract comes less than a week after ABL Group, another major maritime company, entered into a collaboration with Eni to provide maritime assurance services for transportation and installation (T&I) operations.
