Nordex Surpasses 5 GW Milestone for Wind Energy Installations in the Nordics

The Nordex Group, a global leader in wind turbine manufacturing, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 5 GW of installed capacity in the Nordic region.

With a total of 1234 “Made by Nordex” turbines currently operational in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, the company is providing clean electricity to 2 million households.

The Nordic region presents unique challenges for wind energy projects, including complex terrain, difficult site access, and harsh climate conditions.

Till Junge, Vice President of Nordex Group’s Nordic region, highlights the company’s expertise in overcoming these challenges.

Nordex offers cold climate variants and the Nordex Advanced Anti-Icing System, ensuring high turbine availability even during the long and demanding winter months.

A History of Success in the Nordics

Nordex Group’s presence in the region dates back to the mid-1980s, when it installed its first turbines in Denmark.

Today, Finland and Sweden are driving the growth of new wind energy projects in the Nordics, and Nordex is well-positioned to meet the increasing demand.

Ibrahim Özarslan, CEO of Nordex Group’s Division Europe, reaffirms the company’s commitment to supporting its customers in the region. He emphasizes Nordex’s competitive advantage with large rotors, powerful turbines, and high tower variants, enabling the company to maintain its market position and expand its installation base in the Nordics.

Nordex Group’s strong track record, dedicated local team, and innovative solutions position it to continue leading the Nordic wind energy market. As the region increasingly embraces renewable energy sources, Nordex remains committed to providing reliable and efficient wind turbines that contribute to a sustainable energy future.
