Nordex Group Secures Significant Orders in German Wind Energy Market

The Nordex Group has experienced a positive surge in order intake within the German wind energy market. Recent orders total approximately 172 MW, representing a diverse range of customers and projects.

The most substantial project secured by the Nordex Group is located in Lower Saxony. The company will supply eleven N163/6.X turbines to a wind farm operator based in Badbergen/Dinklage, within the districts of Osnabrück and Vechta.

Additionally, a Premium Service contract with a duration of twenty years has been agreed upon. The ‘Bünne-Wehdel’ wind farm, with a capacity of 74.8 MW, is scheduled to be commissioned in the fall of 2025.

Bünne-Wehdel is a repowering project where 17 older 1.5 MW Südwind S70 turbines will be replaced with the more advanced and efficient N163/6.X turbines. These new turbines boast a capacity of 6.8 MW each and feature a hub height of 164 meters.

Notably, the Nordex Group, under its previous brand ‘Südwind,’ manufactured, supplied, and installed the original turbines 22 years ago.

Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central of the Nordex Group, expressed pride in the company’s contribution to the energy transition through this repowering project.

He highlighted the higher annual yield of the new turbines compared to their predecessors and the significance of once again installing turbines for the same operating group at this location.

The Bünne-Wehdel project was a collaborative effort involving EFI Wind from Mülheim an der Ruhr, Alpha Wind from Osnabrück, and Energy-Farming from Bad Essen. Energy-Farming will also be responsible for the commercial and technical operation of the wind farm, ensuring its efficient and effective management.
