Nordex Group Wins 40 MW Wind Turbine Order for Waabs Wind Farm in Germany

In late June 2024, DenkerWulf, a leading onshore wind farm developer in Germany, placed an order for seven N149/5.X turbines from the Nordex Group.

This order also includes a premium service contract for the maintenance of the turbines over a 20-year period.

The turbines, belonging to the Delta4000 series, are destined for the 39.9 MW Waabs wind farm, situated near Eckernförde in Schleswig-Holstein. Each turbine boasts a nominal output of 5.7 MW, and the Nordex Group is scheduled to supply them starting in the spring of 2025.

“We are delighted that DenkerWulf has once again chosen our technology,” said Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central of the Nordex Group. “We value the trust they have placed in us. Contributing to the sustainable energy landscape of the region through this project fills us with pride as the turbine supplier, and we eagerly anticipate future collaborations.”

DenkerWulf CEO Torsten Levsen praised the streamlined process, commenting, “The current deal flow with Nordex enables swift and straightforward contract closures. Typically, our discussions primarily focus on site parameters. This significantly benefits our goal of optimizing projects and processes as effectively as possible.”

This contract highlights Nordex Group’s continued success in the German wind energy market and the strong working relationship between the company and DenkerWulf.
