In January, ARA Petroleum secured a sales agreement with the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) to supply 40 million cubic feet per day of gas from the Ntorya field during the first year of operation.
Ministry of Energy Grants Development License
On Wednesday, May 29th, ARA Petroleum, the operator of the Ntorya gas project in Tanzania’s Ruvuma Basin, received a significant boost with the approval of its development plan. The Tanzanian Ministry of Energy granted the company a 25-year development license, allowing it to proceed with this onshore gas project designed to serve the domestic market.
Immediate Start of Production Activities
“We are thrilled to receive this license from the Ministry of Energy and are ready to immediately begin work on bringing this onshore project into production,” said Erhan Saygi, Managing Director of APT.
Development Plan and Exploration Activities
The company plans to achieve gas production by converting an existing well into a production well and mobilizing a rig to drill an additional well for further assessment of the site’s gas potential.
These activities will occur concurrently with the construction of facilities for processing the extracted gas. Moreover, the company will continue exploration activities in the area.
