Redeux Energy Sells 450 MW Solar Portfolio to Pine Gate Renewables

Redeux Energy Partners, a rapidly growing developer of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, has announced the sale of a 450 MWdc solar project portfolio to Pine Gate Renewables, a major player in the renewable energy sector. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for Redeux, founded in Denver in 2021.

The divested portfolio consists of three photovoltaic plants strategically located in the MISO South region.

This area, known for its strong demand for renewable energy, is experiencing a surge in solar capacity development driven by utility decarbonization goals and increasing industrial and commercial needs.

For Pine Gate Renewables, this acquisition aligns with their growth strategy. With an operational portfolio exceeding 2 GW, the company now benefits from additional prime assets in the MISO region.

Andrew Vietze, Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Pine Gate Renewables, stated, “These projects will be competitive assets for our growing pipeline in this region.”

Rob Masinter,CEO of Redeux Energy, emphasizes the rigorous approach of their team: “We have developed a systematic process and robust tools to develop high-quality solar assets.”

This expertise has enabled them to meet the demands of large independent renewable energy producers.

This asset transfer marks a decisive step for Redeux. With a pipeline of solar and storage projects reaching 7 GW, the company aims to divest other multi-gigawatt portfolios in the coming years.

William Harrison of Cathexis Holdings, an investor in Redeux, highlights the importance of this first transaction in validating the company’s business model.

This transaction illustrates the profound changes underway in the energy sector. The transition to clean energy is accelerating, driven by climate goals and the economic competitiveness of new technologies.

Experienced solar developers like Redeux are well-positioned to meet the massive demand for new renewable capacity. By leveraging their expertise and proven processes, these players are contributing to a more sustainable energy landscape.
