RWE Launches its First Solar Farm in Poland

RWE is in the process of building several solar farms with a combined capacity exceeding 100 MWac throughout Poland.

The first of these projects has now been successfully commissioned. This project, the Bojanowo East ground-mounted photovoltaic farm, is located in the Wielkopolskie region of central Poland and has a capacity of 8.5 MWac.

Over 17,800 solar modules have been installed at the site, capable of supplying green electricity to more than 4,300 Polish households annually.

Katja Wünschel, the CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, expressed her enthusiasm about the project, stating, “Bojanowo East is a great milestone for RWE’s solar expansion in our Polish core market.

It is the first project in a whole series of solar parks we are currently building across the country to be put into operation.

We leverage Poland’s sunny conditions with good locations for solar energy and are keen to further support the Polish energy transition.”
