TechnipFMC has been awarded a substantial integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (iEPCI) contract by London-based oil and gas company Energean.
This contract will provide crucial subsea infrastructure for a field off the coast of Israel.
Subsea Infrastructure for Katlan Development
Valued between $500 million and $1 billion, the contract entails TechnipFMC designing, manufacturing, and installing production systems, pipelines, umbilicals, and subsea structures for the Katlan development in the Mediterranean Sea.
Integration with Existing FPSO
The subsea infrastructure will connect to the Energean Power floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO).
This vessel already serves the Karish and Karish North developments, where TechnipFMC previously delivered comprehensive subsea solutions using its iEPCI execution model.
Optimized Field Layout and Subsea 2.0 Technology
This award, following an integrated front-end engineering and design (iFEED) study, is touted as having optimized the field’s commercial and technological aspects.
Notably, it represents Energean’s first project to utilize TechnipFMC’s configure-to-order Subsea 2.0 production systems.
Collaboration Accelerates Production
Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, commented on the project: “By combining iFEED for optimized field layout with our Subsea 2.0 platform and integrated project execution model, we can accelerate the time to first production at Katlan.
This renewed iEPCI collaboration with Energean showcases the strong partnership between our companies, allowing TechnipFMC to continue delivering enhanced project economics.”
