Vestas Secures 63 MW Order to Expand Wind Farms in Türkiye

Vestas has secured a 63 MW order from Kangal Energy, Is Portföy Infrastructure VCIF, and Is Portfoy Renewable Energy VCIF to expand five existing wind farms: Kangal, Bereketli, Akyurt, Karaçayir, and Konakpinar. These wind parks are all situated in Sivas and Tokat, Türkiye.

The agreement includes the supply and installation of a total of 12 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and two V136-4.5 MW wind turbines. Additionally, it encompasses a 10-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement, ensuring long-term operational efficiency and maintenance.

Levent Ishak, Head of Vestas Türkiye, expressed gratitude towards Kangal Energy, Is Portföy Infrastructure VCIF, and Is Portfoy Renewable Energy VCIF for their confidence in Vestas’ 4 MW platform. He remarked, “We are pleased to see how the versatility of our portfolio continues to drive the expansion of wind energy in Türkiye.”

The delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the first half of 2025, with the commissioning expected to take place in the second half of 2025.

Vestas has a longstanding presence in Türkiye, having installed the country’s first wind turbine in 1984. Since then, Vestas has delivered over 2 GW of wind capacity across the nation.

The recent 63 MW order from Kangal Energy and partners further cements Vestas’ role in advancing wind energy in Türkiye. With a well-rounded contract and clear timelines, Vestas continues its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
