Vestas has won an 81 MW order from Invenergy for the Pencloe wind energy project located in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
Vestas will provide 18 V136-4.5 MW wind turbines, including their supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
Long-Term Service Agreement
Once operational, Vestas will maintain the turbines through a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, ensuring optimal performance of the wind farm assets.
Milestone for Vestas and Invenergy
“This is a significant achievement in our partnership with Invenergy,” said James Ian Robinson, Vestas’ Country Manager and Director of Sales for the UK in Northern and Central Europe. “Vestas’ technology offers a strong business case for the competitive UK electricity market.
We are eager to move into the construction phase, where we will continue our track record of successful project delivery. We appreciate Invenergy’s confidence in Vestas for their largest UK wind park to date.”
Commitment to Clean Energy and Community
“We are thrilled to be using Vestas’ cutting-edge turbines at the Pencloe Wind Energy Centre, which will be Invenergy’s biggest project in the United Kingdom,” stated Stuart Winter, Vice President and Country Manager at Invenergy.
“This project not only reflects our mission to accelerate the adoption of cleaner, more reliable, and affordable energy, but also highlights our commitment to building positive relationships with communities and ensuring that local economies thrive alongside our projects.”
Project Timeline
The delivery of turbines is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2025, and the project is anticipated to be fully operational by early 2026.
