The construction and concessions group announced Monday that they appointed Pierre Anjolras, the President of Vinci Construction, as the operational managing director of the Vinci group, marking “the first step in implementing the succession plan” for CEO Xavier Huillard.
Vinci board unanimously approved Mr. Anjolras’ appointment during a meeting on May 3. He, aged 58, will “report to Xavier Huillard” and will have the responsibility of “overseeing the group’s operational activities across its various sectors.”
The position of operational managing director did not previously exist within the group, which has two deputy managing directors, Pierre Coppey and Christian Labeyrie.
Mr. Huillard’s tenure as CEO of Vinci, which employs 280,000 people in 120 countries, will end on April 17, 2025, following the general assembly called to decide on the 2024 accounts, as per the group’s financial agenda.
His roles as director and chairman of the board remain in effect until the 2026 shareholders’ general meeting.
Mr. Anjolras, a graduate of Polytechnique and an engineer from Ponts et Chaussées, joined Vinci in 1999 as the general manager of Sogea Sud-ouest. In 2004, he became the operations director of Cofiroute, before being appointed CEO of ASF in 2007.
Mr. Anjolras took on the role of deputy CEO at Eurovia in 2010, later becoming CEO in 2014 and joining Vinci’s executive committee. In early 2021, Xavier Huillard appointed him president of Vinci Construction, with the mission of merging Eurovia and Vinci Construction.
