The construction of the 614 km Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline in Nigeria is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
This announcement was made by Mele Kyari, the head of the state-owned oil company, NNPC, during a site visit in Kaduna State. Initially slated for completion in 2023, the project has faced a two-year delay.

Kyari emphasized that the major sections of the pipeline are already finished and that “the goal remains to deliver the project by December, with finalization in 2025.”
The pipeline is expected to generate 3.6 gigawatts of electricity and bolster industrial activity along its route, which extends from Ajaokuta to Kano, passing through Kaduna.
