The Denis Group, a leading construction materials company, has unveiled a major collaboration with Nexhos Énergies to deploy 14 photovoltaic power plants at their various sites in Brittany.
This ambitious endeavor is aimed at advancing energy sustainability through renewable sources.
Boosting Energy Independence and Cost Competitiveness
Renan Denis, CEO of Denis Matériaux, expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting its potential to achieve energy independence while maintaining cost competitiveness within the market.
The initiative will include 11 rooftop systems, necessitating renovations, and three storage canopies, with completion expected by 2025.
Significant Investment in Renewable Energy
With a combined capacity of 4.23 MWp and a total investment of approximately €10 million, this undertaking showcases a substantial commitment to renewable energy adoption.
It has garnered support from key regional stakeholders, including the Denis Group, Nexhos Énergies for project management, and Crédit Agricole d’Ille-et-Vilaine for financial backing through equity and structured debt.
Meeting 75% of Energy Needs through Self-Consumption
This solar project is projected to generate 4,200 MWh of electricity annually, which will satisfy 75% of the Denis Group’s current energy requirements through self-consumption. This not only reduces reliance on external energy sources but also contributes to a lower carbon footprint.
The collaboration between Denis Group and Nexhos Énergies leverages their respective strengths in construction materials and renewable energy expertise. This partnership ensures the efficient and effective execution of the project, from design and installation to ongoing management.
A Model for Industrial Sustainability in Brittany
The initiative serves as a prime example of how industrial sectors in Brittany are embracing sustainability and integrating renewable energy solutions. It contributes significantly to the region’s energy goals and demonstrates a commitment to reducing environmental impact.
The Denis Group’s investment in solar power plants underscores their leadership in promoting a greener future for the construction materials industry. By harnessing solar energy, they not only reduce operational costs but also contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for all.
