Vestas to Supply Wind Turbines for RWE’s 660 MW Nordseecluster A Project

For the initial phase, Vestas will supply 44 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines, handling the supply, delivery, and commissioning of these turbines. Furthermore, Vestas will provide comprehensive service for the assets under a 5-year service agreement, followed by an operational support agreement, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

In addition to Nordseecluster A, Vestas and RWE have a conditional order agreement in place for 60 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for Nordseecluster B, which will contribute an additional 900 MW of capacity to the project. This signifies a significant expansion of offshore wind power in the region.

Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its pivotal role in Europe’s offshore wind industry and Vestas’ commitment to promoting clean energy solutions. He thanked RWE for their collaboration and expressed excitement for the future cooperation on this project.

Thomas Michel, Chief Operating Officer of RWE Offshore Wind, shared his satisfaction with entering the execution phase of Nordseecluster A and expressed his gratitude to all parties involved. He emphasized RWE’s focus on delivering the project and their anticipation of further collaboration with Vestas.

The Nordseecluster is strategically located approximately 50 km north of the island of Juist in the German North Sea. RWE has scheduled the wind turbine delivery for Nordseecluster A in 2026, marking a significant step towards expanding Germany’s renewable energy capacity.

This landmark project underscores the growing importance of offshore wind energy in Europe’s transition to a sustainable energy future. With Vestas’ expertise and RWE’s commitment, Nordseecluster A and B are poised to significantly contribute to clean energy generation and reduce carbon emissions in the region.
